Northern Arizona achieved the best women's finish in program history by placing second in the 6-kilometer race by a 123-124 margin behind three-time winner North Carolina State at the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships at the Panorama Farms Course in Virginia. Northern Arizona had six athletes finish in the top 60, with Gracelyn Larkin earning 13th in 19:35.6, Annika Reiss finishing 15th in 19:36.8, Elise Stearns placing 20th in 19:52.2, Ruby Smee grabbed 54th in 20:15.1, Ali Upshaw achieved 57th in 20:16.6, Maggi Congdon took 60th in 20:19.0 and Maisie Grice captured 76th in 20:31.1 for the Lumberjacks, who improved on a third-place performance in 1991.
